The Race Team is for Snowboarders who ride on Hardboots and Raceboards (Softboot exception: Positive stance angles on both bindings with a stiff board is acceptable). These Athletes will train on blue and black terrain, advancing their skills with drills and riding that promotes good habits when running gates. Gate training is usually a large part of the day.
Riders on this team regularly compete in USASA Series regional competitions. Depending on the rider's preference, he or she will work with the PASEF coaching staff to select the appropriate events to register for in Slalom / Giant Slalom and Boardercross. If an athlete meets the qualification requirements, they may also compete in the U.S. Ski & Snowboard events.
ABILITY EXPECTATIONS FOR THE RACE TEAM:
Riders must be able to ride all terrain in control at a high-intermediate level or better. Be confident on their equipment and create a variety of turns that help control speed whether it be to slow down or speed up.
