ALPINE U8/10 TEAM

The U8/10 Team is for athletes under the age of 10 and is usually the first step towards "Fun"damental skill building and learning about racing. This group of skiers will learn the skills necessary to navigate all types of mountain terrain. Training will focus on fundamental skills, emphasizing fun, basic agility, balance and coordination. Athletes will work towards bringing confidence into a structured gate training and racing environment. Throughout the season, the U8/10 age group will learn through skills-based progressions, preparing them for gates and drill courses, while setting them up for success as they move through the alpine pipeline. U8/10 competition opportunities consist of athletically appropriate events such as U.S. Ski & Snowboard sanctioned GS/SL races. The fundamentals of Giant Slalom and Slalom are the focus throughout the season and a special Holiday Camp is part of the fun for all our Alpine Programs!

Scientific studies, and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Alpine Training System (ATS), suggests that training 2-3 days per week is ideal for this phase athlete. Friday night training and our weekend program allows us to follow the ATS suggestion.

ALPINE U12 TEAM

The U12 Team is for athletes ages 10-11 and is usually the first or second step of the development ladder for alpine racers at PASEF. Following scientific studies and the US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Training System (ATS), athletes will work as a team in developing all mountain skiing skills, and building tremendous confidence. The U12 Team may be a first step for your athlete, or it may be the next step from either Development, Team Discovery or the U8/10 Team. Creativity and fun are the goals of training using directed and undirected free/skills skiing, gate drills, and full length training. U12 competition opportunities consist of U.S. Ski & Snowboard sanctioned divisional GS/SL events throughout the East/ Northeast Region of PARA, racing in U.S. Ski & Snowboard events, Championship Qualifiers and State Races (U12 Championships). If deemed appropriate by your coach, potential speed elements introduction training. The fundamentals of Giant Slalom and Slalom are the focus throughout the season and a special Holiday Camp is part of the fun for all our Alpine Programs!

ALPINE U14 TEAM

The U14 Team is for racers ages 12 and 13. This group of athletes train in a dynamic team environment that continues to use the whole mountain to enhance their fundamentals. These strong skiers will be involved in competitions throughout the East/ Northeast Region of PARA, racing in U.S. Ski & Snowboard events, Championship Qualifiers and State Races (U14 Championships). If deemed appropriate by your coach, potential speed elements introduction training. A stronger commitment to the sport by the athlete is part of the growth of the U14 Team. This program is offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday plus a holiday camp. U14 Team members will also be introduced to physical conditioning and sports psychology throughout the season.
